It’s the fourth of July I remember being just young enough that my dad wouldn’t allow me to light the fireworks he’d bought. This was a fourth of July I remember very vividly. It was one of the last one that both sides of the family participated in. On each side of the family we have cousins born on the 4th of July. To celebrate we bought a piñata and cake for each. Though that wasn’t the part that the kids were looking forward today. No we were waiting on the fireworks. I remember very fondly one firework in particular it was a turtle, but once you lit it the little turtle firework shot of screeching, while a fire lit from behind it. It was awesome. Fireworks were awe inspiring to me, but at the same time they were a bit scary. They seemed so unpredictable what if it shot at me? What if it blew up as soon as I lit the fuse? Though it seemed to be a risk that was worth my while. I remember another time we had fireworks and we set them off at my Uncles house. We had just bought a bunch of Roman Candles, Fire Crackers, etc. Since they were illegal we weren’t sure if they were safe or not, but that didn’t seem to matter. My cousins, my brother, and I all lit candles. Meanwhile the adults sat off to the side in idle conversation. My uncles and my father enjoyed a couple drinks of beer and maybe a shot or two of tequila. Everyone seemed to have fun that night. Another thing that fireworks signify is New Year’s, which also happens to be my birthday. Almost every New Year’s I either go outside or I watch the news and watch the countdown to midnight to see the fireworks and celebrate the first few minutes of my birthday. It’s always cool to see celebrations from around the world some like to use fireworks and others like New York prefer to let the ball drop. I’m always eagerly anticipating that first shot of a firework from a casino on a strip in Vegas. They usually end up having a beautiful array of fireworks. Last year I went on the roof of my house and just sat and watched the fireworks in the sky explode into vibrant colors. It was chilly out, but it was well worth seeing.

Fireworks are pretty scary when you're not sure if they're safe... That being said, My family would always let me light the fuse when I was young. I enjoyed your story and your birthday is now easy to remember haha.

Your journal made me so jealous. I have always wanted to stay a night at my boyfriend's house and watch movies, snack, and talk about our old times with each others. However, I never get the chance to do that. My parents are too strict. You and your boyfriend is so cute. I hope the next time you guys have a sleepover it would be fun too.

The highest place I have ever climbed is Mount. Charleston. Although the scenery is amazing, and filled with such grace and serenity, my climb was quite the opposite. Oppose to birds chirping and the waterfall splashing, there was screaming, barking, and sirens. Instead of a sweaty fun climb, it ended up being a bloody scary fall.

Conny, we both wrote about the same thing. What a coincident. Wow your experience at Mt. Charleston was so different from mine. however as long as you are okay now that's good. Well next time you go to Mt. Charleston again, don't fall.

It looks like all three of us wrote similar stories. I also got injured while climbing Mt. Charleston, although I was never rushed to UMC. I only got a wound on my leg. Hope you have better luck next time!

The 2014 World cup always brings out the pride in people even in America were soccer isn’t exactly an important sport. The weird thing is that this year the US actually had the most fans in Brazil. I’m Mexican so I automatically love soccer. Just kidding not all Mexicans like soccer. However whenever the Mexican international team plays I’m used to going to parties with relatives and close friends to rep our true colors , red white and green. We always have good food like BBQ, carne asada tacos and other great dishes. Everyone wears a Mexico jersey or something green white and red. Everyone brings coolers with different drinks for everyone.

That family event sounds really fun and enjoyable! The food also sounds really good since I like carne asada with anything.

It would probably be really awkward if you weren't into Soccer yet the rest of your family was, like you'd be up in your room trying to read or study while everyone else is yelling at the game. At least that's how it is at my house with the Football

Climbing can be a chore, an exercise, or a job. In different circumstances, climbing can be either fun or necessary. However, no matter the person is climbing a mountain or a ladder, climbing is exhausting to one. Climbing can take one’s strength easily like a piece of cake. Climbing in different situation can have different feeling during and afterward. Comments are closed.
